About Marketer Daily

Every morning from Monday to Friday, you'll receive an email from me that includes a new lesson in marketing, based on my personal stories as an atypical marketer. On Saturday mornings, I’ll send a recap email in case you missed anything.

You'll also receive remote job opportunities, inspirational stories from successful marketers and business owners, and recommended resources, tools, and gear for the modern day marketer.

Why daily? Because weekly newsletters are so… 17th century. And sometimes a quick, one-page read on your morning commute from your bedroom to the desk in your den can give you the incremental boost you need to hit your long term goals.

As the Art of Continuous Improvement by James Clear notes,

If you get one percent better each day for one year, you'll end up thirty-seven times better by the time you’re done.

Who is this for?

Marketer Daily will mostly appeal to:

  • New marketers, fresh in the job market and seeking to build their experience.

  • Existing marketers, bored with their current avenue in marketing and looking to try something new.

However, Marketer Daily may also appeal to:

  • Soon-to-be marketers, currently in school and hungry to learn more.

  • Business owners, looking to enhance their marketing skill set to improve their own organization.

  • Non-marketers, looking to switch lanes and enter the carnivorous, and sometimes vain, universe of marketing.

Who are you?

I go by the name of Reggie, and I currently live in Toronto, Canada.

In a past life, I was a computer science dropout at the university in my hometown of Saint John, NB, before making the move to Toronto to study marketing at George Brown College. After graduating in 2007 on the Dean’s List, I hit the corporate and government circuit as a 9-to-5 warrior.

Then the recession hit, I lost my job, and I was left with piecing together my next steps. Social media, and digital marketing as whole, were still in their infancy at the time, so I began consulting with small businesses all across Toronto. I learned most of my tricks of the trade here.

Simultaneously, I started building my personal brand and blog, which brought hundreds of emails from PR agencies with invitations for brand activations with their clients. I was one of the early influencers in Canada in lifestyle and technology.

Later, I made the pivot to tech startups, and began remote work wayyy before it became the norm.

As I built a stronger focus on entrepreneurship, I looked for ways to transition my marketing skills into my own company or product - something that was never touched on in post secondary education. My life path led me to two exciting evolutions:

  • I could improve my marketing capabilities with an entrepreneurial mindset

  • I could match my skills with technical leads to build and market great products

Since then, I’ve built a strong reputation for being a strategic consultant with a mindset for product market fit, and took leadership positions with a cryptocurrency payment processor, a privacy-based storage app, product development of a Qi-enabled wireless charger, and more.

In my journey, I’ve worked in over a dozen industries that developed my skills as a full-stack marketer. The majority of what I’ve learned came from the field, not from text books.

My goal with Marketer Daily is to share what I’ve learned - especially the unprinted kind - to other marketers. I want to help make everyone really good at what they do.
